Torna con un sontuoso cd di musica visionaria l’eclettico chitarrista inglese John MCLAUGHLIN. Dagli esordi con Miles DAVIS, alle Mahavishnu Orchestra, fino ai suoi molteplici progetti discografici, passando per la musica indiana, il jazz e le commistioni del futuro con la musica elettronica e il drum’n'bass (Industrial zen l’album del 2006, vero e proprio manifesto degli ultimi tempi con ritmiche nuovissime e soluzioni innovative).
Il nuovo cd fresco di stampa uscito per la Abstrct Logix sembra un quadro di Paul KLEE pieno di colori e sfumature dinamiche. Affiancato da Gary Husband ( piano, keyboard, drums) Etienne Mbappè (bass), Ranjit Barot ispirato alla batteria, McLaughlin attinge al suo vasto repertorio che include i linguaggi più disparati, dal jazz moderno a drive elettronici sperimentali, tastiere ben in evidenza e uno sviluppo virtuosistico sulla chitarra di gran lusso. Ma non è un disco di jazz in assoluto. Una perla sonora da ascoltare. Ecco la velocità compositiva di Trancefusion e Guitar Love con le frequenze etnojazz in primo piano, le evoluzioni fusion tecnologiche di Call and Answer e la ballata Wonderfall che ricorda musicalmente le idee di Jaco Pastorius. Una musica indefinibile e un’avventura creativa come ce ne sono poche in giro.
“Now Here This” è una finestra sullo stile musicale che verrà (Riff Raff) con citazioni di jazz contemporaneo, nuove sonorità e derive elettroniche super raffinate. La sua proposta in sintonia con il presente è proiettata in avanti con melodie suggestive e ritmi più accesi.

From the beginning with Miles Davis to the Mahavishnu Orchestra, to its many recording projects, through the Indian music, jazz and the mixture of the future with electronic music and drum'n'bass (Industrial Zen album of 2006, manifesto of recent times with brand new rhythmic and innovative solutions).
The brand new CD released by Abstrct Logix looks like a painting of Paul KLEE full of colors and dynamic nuances. Supported by Gary Husband (piano, keyboard, drums) Etienne Mbappe (bass), an inspired Ranjit Barot on drums, McLaughlin draws on his vast repertoire that includes many different languages, from modern jazz to experimental electronic drives, keyboards in a high visibility and a virtuoso development on the luxury guitar. But this is not totally a jazz record. It’s a sound pearl to listen to. Here's the speed and composition of TRANCEFUSION Guitar Love with the etnojazz frequencies in the foreground, the technology- fusion evolutions of Call and Answer and the ballad “Wonderfall”, that reminds us the musical ideas of Jaco Pastorius. An indefinable and creative music adventure as there are so few around. "Now Here This" is a window on the style of music that will be (Riff Raff) with quotations from contemporary jazz, new sounds and super refined electronic drifts. His proposal in line with the present is thrown forward and evocative melodies and powerful rhythms]
