La novità che vi presentiamo è questo recentissimo “LUNAR” uscito per i tipi della Schema Records e raccoglie undici passaggi, undici idee che visualizzano senza mezzi termini l’evoluzione del jazz contemporaneo passando da suoni acustici, elettronici, modali con un approccio da esploratori suggestivi. La musica è una perfetta fusione tra Africa, similitudini cool-funk, il post rock strumentale dei Tortoise e le visioni sperimentali del jazz elettrico degli anni settanta (Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock e Larry Coryell): 11 tracce astratte che inseguono un chiaro sviluppo musicale verso la musica afroamericana, rivisitata, studiata, glorificata dalla memoria di Lorenzo Tucci e Luca Mannutza sensibili nel trovare soluzioni modernissime (Jungle e Space o The Voyager), pregiate (Jet Lag e Earth), ai confini con il free jazz (Avaria) o cariche di una eleganza meticcia molto contagiosa (Duke’s Nightmare). Chiude il tutto Inception di McCoy Tyner in un’atmosfera sixthy alla Jimmy Smith di chiara derivazione Blue Note e che apre le porte del jazz moderno, mettendo in luce un talento strumentale da non sottovalutare. Con questo cd il duo Tucci-Mannutza si fanno strada fra linguaggi innovativi e un repertorio che include jazz, neojazz e musiche elettroniche.
[Equipped with a visionary sense of rhythm, Lorenzo TUCCI (drums and effect) and Luca MANNUTZA (piano, rhodes and hammond) are the standard bearers of the new indie jazz Italian ready for the jump to international stages. The new work we’re going to present is the latest “LUNAR”, released by Schema Records and contains eleven steps, eleven ideas that show the evolution of contemporary jazz acoustic sounds, electronic, with the explorers' approach. The music is a perfect mix of Africa, similarities cool-funk, instrumental post-rock of Tortoise and the visions of the experimental electric jazz of the seventies (Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and Larry Coryell): 11 abstract tracks that follow a clear musical development to the Afro-American music, revisited, studied, glorified by the memory of Lorenzo Tucci and Luke Mannutza, sensitive in finding ultramodern solutions (Jungle Space or Voyager), fine solutions (Jet Lag and Earth), on the border with free jazz (failure) or full of a contagious elegant melting pot (Duke's Nightmare). In the end, Inception by McCoy Tyner closes everything in a “sixty’s”, "Jimmy Smith’s” atmosphere in a clear Blue Note derivation that opens the doors to the modern jazz, highlighting an instrumental talent to be reckoned with. With this CD, the duo Tucci-Mannutza find their way into new languages and a repertoire that includes jazz, and electronic music neojazz].
